Sommeliers Association of India welcomes sommeliers, wine professionals, wine lovers,
and businesses. There will be three types of membership for individuals (sommeliers, wine
professionals and wine enthusiasts) and three tiers of memberships for businesses within
the hospitality industry too. A specific sommelier membership is open to people working as
sommeliers with relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
Being part of an internationally recognized association that follows the highest standards
of the global wine and spirits industry. Invitations to exclusive tastings, events, and
masterclasses. This includes events for non-industry members or wine enthusiasts.
Sommeliers Association of India, is the only provider in India of ASI (Association de la
Sommellerie Internationale) qualifications, that are recognized and highly valued all over
the world. Moreover, professional sommeliers will have the opportunity to compete for the
national title of Best Sommelier of India, which will allow them to represent India in
International events and competitions, including the Best Sommelier of Asia and Pacific and
Best Sommelier of the World.
It is a national-level competition open to sommelier members. It will be held as per ASI
standards and the winner will represent India in the Best Sommelier of Asia and Pacific
competition.

SAI will have its own certifications and competitions benchmarked to the world standards,
besides giving access to ASI certifications, including theory tasting and service of food and
beverage, including wine, spirits, sake, beer, tea, coffee, water, chocolate, cheese and
non-alcoholic beverages too.
ASI certifications can only be provided by SAI in India.
